Pathogen: Rhizoctonia solani & R. cerealis


Rhizoctonia is a genus of fungi that causes blights in a variety of turfgrass species.  Rhizoctonia is associated with 3 “common” turf diseases: 

·       Yellow Patch- a common blight associated with annual and Kentucky bluegrass species (R. cerealis)

·       Large Patch- impacts warm-season grasses (Rhizoctonia solani) 

·       Brown Patch- impacts primarily cool-season grasses (R. solani
